Franck Dubarry's second year at BaselWorld

2017, 16 August FRANCK DUBARRY

Thomas Campion, Marketing Manager at Franck Dubarry, looks back on one of the brand’s highlights at this year’s Baselworld fair held from 23 to 30 March 2017 in Basel, Switzerland.

Why Baselworld? Is it a strategic event for the brand?
Baselworld is the world’s premier watch industry show. A significant part of any brand’s commercial approach is defined there.

What models were rolled out? And what’s the design strategy behind these new timepieces?
4 Collections were showcased at Baselworld.
Just like the Fileteado range inspired by the pictorial art of Buenos Aires, or the Crazy Balls collection and its fascinating dial movement, some of these collections showcase travel and adventure themes while others feature complications that have never been seen before.
The Spirit of Samourai, for instance, is a limited-edition model that pays homage to Japan and the spirit of its ancestral warriors.
The Crazy Wheel model features a unique complication developed by Franck Dubarry SA.

Which of the models displayed has met with the greatest success?
Without a doubt it’s been the Crazy Wheel, which is featured in the specialized press on a regular basis because of its incredibly sophisticated module.

What atmosphere did you want for your booth? What was the message you hoped to convey to those visiting your booth?
The Franck Dubarry brand stands for design, innovation, and definitely focuses on tomorrow’s world. The booth’s atmosphere was its trendsetting vision, and amazing graphics.

What key players from the watch-making industry visited your stand?
Buyers from 55 countries, and journalists, and influencers who showed interest in this creative and bold vision of luxury watch-making.

What are your impressions after the fair?
The fair was definitely a success, and thanks to a distribution network that is developing fast, our clients will soon be able to explore our collections on all five continents. The models that have not been released yet although premiered at the fair will also be presented to the public in the very near future.
